Taking your own

The best hour is the first

Light and moments

Between 5 and 6 am: half-light, candles, the illuminated tower.
At 6 am: the first couples, with room still to move around them.
From 8 am: hard light, but a full dance floor.

The ball is a festival, not a film set: if you photograph people at close range, ask first.
With children, doubly so.
If you publish pictures, respect people's right to their own image.

If you want to capture the morning in pictures, plan it as you would plan the ball itself: the Kocherlball takes place on the third Sunday in July, the band plays from 6 to 10 am, and the first guests are already sitting at the long tables at around four. Admission is free. All the times are on the page about the date, and what people wear that morning is explained on the page about dress.
