The Kocherlball keeps to a rule that is easy to remember: third Sunday in July, six in the morning. The date, the times and the exceptions.

The Kocherlball has no use for an events calendar. Since its return in 1989 it has followed the same rule: third Sunday in July, starting at six.

The City of Munich gives the same date for 2027: Sunday 18 July, 6 to 10 am. The ball is organised by Haberl Gastronomie, the family who run the beer garden at the Chinese Tower; the city's Department of Arts and Culture supports the programme.

When is the Kocherlball 2027?
On Sunday 18 July 2027, from 6 to 10 am at the Chinese Tower in the English Garden. The ball always falls on the third Sunday in July.
What time does the Kocherlball start?
The band strikes up at 6 am. Many guests are there long before, the first of them at around four.
How long does the Kocherlball last?
Four hours, from 6 to 10 am. After that the beer garden returns to its ordinary business.
Does the Kocherlball take place in the rain?
A shower stops nobody; a serious storm can cut the ball short or cancel it. On the weekend itself, reliable information comes from the organiser at kocherlball.de and the Instagram channel @chinesischerturm.
When is the Kocherlball 2028?
By the rule of the third Sunday in July, most likely on 16 July 2028. The date is binding once the organiser announces it.
